Who are we?
Uplift is a small online clothing bank and exchange. We are a non-profit organisation that collects clothes for donations to vulnerable communities. The clothing we do not donate is sold in our online store with all profits going to the charities that we support.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to revolutionise the second-hand clothing industry whilst simultaneously providing customers with the opportunity to give back through their purchases.
We want to disrupt existing unsustainable methods of consumption by providing consumers with an ethical alternative. Our alternative also supports the essential role non-partisan organisations play in supporting vulnerable groups in our country.

Our vision is to provide a nation-wide platform for ethical, accessible and sustainable shopping that uplifts the community and improves social welfare.
GET INVOLVED
Donate clothing
We will gladly find an appropriate home for the clothing you no longer wear. Your donations will either be distributed to individuals in need or sold at our online charity store. If you have items to donate please email us @uplift.through.thrift@gmail.com and we will arrange to collect the items. Even one item of clothing can make a big difference in somebody’s life.
Visit our second hand clothing store
Visit @uplift_and_thrift on Instagram and place a bid on an item of clothing. If you win the bid, the pre-loved clothing item will be yours and you can decide which of our charities (TEARS, Rape Crisis Cape Town or FeedSA) the profits will go towards.
Alternatively, visit our Uplift through Thrift Facebook page and view the beautiful items that we have placed in Market Place.

If you have no clothes to donate or would like to contribute to our cause in another way, make a small donation here to enable us to continue operating.
OUR IMPACT
The image graph on the right shows how much money we have raised for each of the charities that we support since we were established. This graph was last updated on 9 December 2021.
The money shown in the graph as well as R170 that we donated to a newly formed charity sums to R9 756.
We are confident that with the continuing support of our customers, we can double this amount in 2022.
